Tecsound T50 and Self-Adhesive T50S
Recyclable and made from 68% Recycled Material Fillers
These are revolutionary non-flammable soundproofing mats designed to substantially upgrade the acoustic properties of lightweight structures such as stud walls and timber suspended flooring. T50 and T50S works particularly well when sandwiched between other high density layers such as Acoustic Plasterboard.
The self-adhesive version T50S can also be applied directly onto metal panels to reduce vibration and improve the sound insulation. This is a big advantage when installed on top of tin and other metal roofs to reduce the drumming noise of rainfall.
Tecsound T50 and T50S are a polymer-based, asphalt-free, high density synthetic soundproofing material that offers good soundproofing performance in different building elements. It has extremely high visco-elasticity as well as being extremely flexible regardless of temperature. And unlike our other soundproofing mats, does not contain any PVC’s.
Tecsound 50 has excellent sound proofing properties. Sound damping is a problem with many constructions and in particular with rigid sheet materials such as plasterboard that absorb little sound energy because they easily vibrate and radiate sound through a structure quite effectively. Tecsound sound barrier mat however has tremendous density and mass whilst being extremely flexible. It’s acoustically better than lead of the same surface mass, so will help block sound far more efficiently.

T50 and T50S rolls are very heavy products and help will be required when handling!
Because this soundproofing material is produced using a large percentage of recycled materials, there may sometimes be a ‘distinctive’ smell when the product is first unpacked. Usually any smell will abate within a few days but as a precaution, we advise applying a thin layer of polythene over the insulation on walls and floors before the final covering is installed to seal in any possible smells. If you should forget to include a polythene sealing layer when this product is sandwiched between two layers of Acoustic Plasterboard and a smell is evident, you can overpaint with a primer sealer that has been tried and tested by another customer.
