QuietFloor Plus is an excellent acoustic underlay beneath floor coverings and designed to improve both impact and airborne noise nuisance through floors.
Suitable for application beneath carpets, laminate flooring and engineered wood flooring.
QuietFloor is a cheaper alternative to Acoustilay 15 and is the best performing acoustic underlay available. It is very quick to install and will effectively reduce both airborne and impact noise through floors and can be used on timber suspended floors and concrete floors alike. Quietfloor PLUS is almost as efficient as installing a floating floor but thinner and cheaper. QuietFloor will add mass to a floor which is most important to reduce airborne noise and the sound absorbing, resilient foam core will absorb and reduce impact noise such as footfalls from penetrating the floor. The use of this product is so much more advantageous than installing a thicker floating floor because there will be no significant increase in floor height although it may be necessary, in some instances to shave a bit of the botoom of doors that may open into the room. With regard to timber suspended floors, the soundproofing properties of QuietFLoor can be enhanced by installing 100mm of AMW100 acoustic mineral wool between the joists and/or adding 2mm of SBM5 soundproofing mat onto the floor prior to installing the acoustic underlay. The addition of SBM5 will add 5Kg per square metre which again, is beneficial for airborne noise reduction.
No additional carpet underlay is required because the resilience of QuietFloor is all that is required to reduce the use of normal underlay.
If required, QuietFloor can be glued to concrete floors using our Sta-Stuk aerosol contact adhesive if compliance with Approved Document E Building Regulations is required.
QuietFloor can also be bonded to the steps and risers of stairs for Part E compliance.
Despite our efforts to ensure the all of our products leave us in perfect condition, on rare occasions, inferior panels may leave us and usually these would take the form of damage or not properly finished edges. If in receipt of any of these they can usually be used for cutting in around the edges of the room so that the inferior edge or damaged section is cut off as waste.
