Artsorption acoustic wall panels can be painted before or after they are installed. However, if they are painted prior to fixing, please ensure the paint is fully dry before handling them. Our special Mastic Adhesive is used to glue them to most wall surfaces.

The panels and adhesive must be kept and stored inside at room temperature so they can be acclimatised in the area where they are to be mounted for at least 24 hours before fixing.

White cotton gloves should be used when handling the panels to avoid soiling them. Walls must be clean, flat, level, dry, solid and free from dust, oil, grease and any other contaminant that may affect the adhesion. We recommend the adhesive is used in temperatures of around 21oC and in well ventilated conditions.

Adhesive is supplied in ready to use cartridges and applied with a mastic or skeleton gun. It adheres immediately upon contact but it is still possible to adjust the placement of the panels up to 2 minutes after bonding. Pressure must be applied to the panels evenly after fixing to the wall to obtain a good bond.

A bead of adhesive is applied to the back of each panel around the perimeter plus several stripes over the remainder of the panel. It is very important enough adhesive is used to fix the panel securely. Too much adhesive used is better than too little.

Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to reach full strength but it should be strong enough to hold the panel in place after a couple of minutes of pressure. Coverage is approximately one cartridge for the 1200 x 900mm panels, 3/4 of a tube for 900 x 600mm panels and 1/2 tube for the 600 x 600mm panels. It is strongly recommended a test adhesion is conducted before proceeding with a full installation of all panels.
